indradi2015Excel Head of Study Program of Universitas Brawijaya (UB), Dr. Eng. Indradi Wijatmiko, ST., M.Eng (Prac.), won third place of the Excel Head of Study Program 2015 on National Selection of Teachers and Education Personnel of Directorate General of Higher Education, at Grand Sahid Hotel Jakarta, 26 to 28 October 2015.

After holding the selection, which began last May, Higher Education set 15 nominees of each category in the final round. In addition to the Head of Study Program, awards were also given to the category of lecturers, laboratory assistants, librarians, financial management personnel, and administrative personnel. This year, the Higher Education emphasizes the assessment into innovative and creative works.

“On this occasion I presented the scientific work to assist the management of the study program, followed by questions and answers and interviews with the jury,” the one who also lecturer of Department of Civil Engineering said.

The scientific work that he show related to the application, a software program used to manage and monitor the activities of the study program. He expects the application he created can be integrated with the information systems of the department, faculty, and also university.

Meanwhile, the first and second place on this category achieved by Dr. Ir. I Wayan Nurjana, M.Sc from Bogor Institute of Agriculture and Ir. Bambang Pramujati, M.Sc, Ph.D from Sepuluh November Institute of Technology, Surabaya.

Indradi explained the two winners advantage is the status of the study program, both has been internationally accredited and have many  international cooperation activities. “That may be their added value, the portions are big enough,” said Indradi who also the expert in the field of civil structures.

However, since getting the accreditation A in 2013, ​​Civil Engineering Undergraduates Program actually started to go for international accreditation. The first step was marked by obtaining grants from the Grant Program Competition (Program Hibah Kompetisi, PHK A2) which has gained over 2 years with a value of 800 million rupiah.

In 2014, it also intensified their preparation and planning. Then in 2015 they began conducting many programs that may support the International accreditation such as staff exchanges, visiting professors, and international competition. “This year we also arrange international accreditation forms, hopefully in 2016 we can submit it,” Indradi who also alumni of the University of Miyazaki said.

Indradi proud to represent UB at the national level and manage to get the award, even if it’s not the first place. According to him, this achievement is a trigger to do things better. If necessary, he ready to share the knowledge and experience to increase achievement in a similar event next year.
