Six Faculty of Engineering Students Accepted in the IISMA Program

A total of six students of the Faculty of Engineering Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) have successfully passed the 2021 Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program organized by the Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) of the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Undergraduate students could spend one semester at the overseas university partner which ranked in the QS Top 100 version to study, to experience the host country’s culture, and undertake practical assignments to hone their skills.

The six FTUB students along with their destination universities are as follows:

  1. Ayradiepa Sahadewa Sikken (Industrial Engineering’19) = Boston University Massachusetts, USA
  2. Permata Cinta Ilahi (PWK’19) = Nanyang Technological University Singapore
  3. Daffa Anzunatama (Industrial Engineering’18) = University of Pecs Hungary
  4. Ananda Tazkia Ainayyah (Water Resources Engineering’18) = University of Twente Netherlands
  5. Samuel Christian (Architecture’18) = University of Twente Netherlands
  6. Muhammad Farhan Ardiapratama (Architecture’19) = University of Waterloo Canada

They will start studying in the new semester in August or September according to the policy of their respective destination universities.

In addition to having the opportunity to study abroad, they also have the opportunity to take study subjects outside their chosen study program in Indonesia.

Bambang Winarta, ST., MT., Ph.D. as the Head of the International Liaison Office (ILO) hopes that the selected students can become FTUB representatives in the best campuses in the world.

“We want those students to be able to take knowledge out there so that they return to being students who are more aware of the industry 4.0 and society 5.0,” said the Lecturer of Irrigation Engineering.

IISMA is the Government of Indonesia scholarship scheme to fund Indonesian students for mobility programs at top universities overseas.

The scheme is centrally managed by the Directorate General of Higher Education(DGHE), Ministry of Education and Culture (MoEC) and is open for undergraduate students from all Indonesian higher education institutions under DGHE.

The objectives of IISMA include increasing knowledge, soft skills, and cross-cultural understanding of students, opening opportunities for students to be able to recognize and learn the latest science and technology as well as preparing university graduates who are qualified, open-minded, have experience, global knowledge and are ready to face the challenges of the revolution. industry 4.0 and society 5.0.

The requirements for IISMA are; Indonesian citizens and domiciled in Indonesia, registered at the student’s domestic university, and currently studying in semesters 4-7 in the Undergraduates program.

In addition, they should also have the ability to speak English as evidenced by the minimum official IELTS score: 6.0, TOEFL IBT: 78, Duolingo English Test: 100, or TOEFL ITP: 550 which must still be valid on 16 May 2021. (humasft)
