Civil Engineering Doctoral Program (S3), Faculty of Engineering Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) received an Accreditation Assessment by representatives of BAN-PT online on Friday, August 27, 2021.

This activity uses zoom media and is led directly by Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Supriyadi, CES., DEA. (Universitas Gadjah Mada) and Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Saleh Pallu, M.Eng. (Hasanuddin University) as the assessors.

Present online for today’s assessment are the Rector of UB Prof. Dr. Ir. Nuhfil Hanani AR MS, the Vice-Rector I for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Aulanni’am drh DES, and the Dean of FTUB Prof. Ir Hadi Suyono ST MT PhD IPU ASEANEng and staff.

Furthermore, the Chair of the Civil Engineering Department DrEng Ir Alwafi Pujiraharjo ST MT, Head of the Civil Engineering Study Program DrEng Yulvi Zaika MT, Head of the Quality Assurance Group (GJM) Dr Purnami ST MT, and the entire Civil Engineering Accreditation task force team.

In his speech, the Chancellor said that this accreditation visitation is a form of UB’s commitment which always wants to improve the quality of the institution.

Prof. Nuhfil also revealed that UB will always synergize with other universities to increase competitiveness in order to compete globally.

“We can’t run anymore, we have to fly to catch up. Our orientation is no longer local, but must be global,” he said.

Faculty of Engineering, continued the Rector, is one of UB’s mainstays. FTUB has very qualified resources, it was shown in the commemoration of Indonesia Independence Day 2021, the Faculty of Engineering became the General Champion in activities that were closely related to academics.

The Rector’s statement was also supported by the Dean of the FTUB. In his speech, Prof. Hadi said that almost all business processes at universities and faculties are supported by IT-based management information systems.

The Faculty of Engineering is also always committed to improving its quality, both in terms of education and management and is always oriented towards internationalization and sustainability.

“The method we always use is called PPEPP (Penetapan, Pelaksanaan, Evaluasi, Pengendalian, dan Peningkatan); Planning, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement which are always carried out with quality internal audits,” explained this Professor of Power System Engineering & Artificial Intelligence.

This Field Assessment is a continuation of the adequacy assessment that was carried out several weeks ago. Representing the assessor team of BAN-PT, Prof. Saleh expressed his appreciation to the committee and task force team who had facilitated the activity.

“Thank you for facilitating us, we have sent several agendas for today and tomorrow, we ask for good cooperation so that this process runs smoothly,” he said.

After the opening by the Rector, the assessor team immediately started a session with the Head of the Study Program Management Unit (UPPS), followed by a quality assurance team, interviews with lecturers/students/staff/alumni, and the first day ended with a session with the UPPS management team.

This Accreditation Assessment will be continued tomorrow, August 27th, 2021, with a Field Review Session, clarification of infrastructure, and supporting documents. (humasft)
