Faculty of Engineering Win Half of UB GIRAFFE Awards 2021

In commemoration of the 76th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) won half the 2021 GIRAFFE Awards and two awards for Excellent Lecturer/Administrative staff.

GIRAFFE which stands for Government, Innovation, Reputation, Alumni, Faculty, Fund, and Efficiency, is one of UB’s strategies to improve international rankings.

This annual award is assessed based on the Key Performance Indicators (IKU) that have been determined by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek).

The Dean of FTUB, Prof. Ir Hadi Suyono, ST., MT., PhD., IPU., ASEAN Eng., expressed his appreciation to all faculty leaders, Departments/Study Program, and lecturers.

“These achievements reflect the names of our faculties and universities. Thank you all for your hard work and efforts. it sure will always be remembered, it is an achievement of the FT lecturers that we should appreciate,” he said after attending the commemoration of Indonesian Independence at the Samantha Krida Building (17/Aug/2021).

Asked about the hopes and future steps for FTUB, he wanted to maintain the achievements by increasing the participation of lecturers and students in research and PKM.

All academics are also expected to have a better and more focused orientation in the outcome and output-based achievements in the fields of academic/education, research, community service, and student affairs.

FTUB will also always improve quality management. One of them is how to input the criteria/IKU.

“What is already there will continue to be improved and better facilitated,” said this Power System Engineering & Artificial Intelligence professor.

International recognition, he continued, will also continue to be improved. One of them is by collaborating in the field of research with other credible institutions.

This increase is also carried out through scientific publications in international/national journals and seminars and intellectual property rights and patents.

“National and international cooperation still needs to be maintained and enhanced so that inter-institutional benefits can be achieved,” he said.

These efforts will certainly not be realized without good cooperation between the academic community’s components, lecturers, students, administrative staff, and of course all stakeholders in the FTUB environment.

May we all be among the winners who continue to be ready to face challenges and always contribute to the alma mater, Religion, Nation, and State. Dirgahayu Indonesia, keep up the glory of the Faculty of Engineering, now and in the future!! (humasft)
