The Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB), Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) at the departmental level begins today, August 20, 2022. At this Department level, Maba have gathered since 05.00 WIB to be guided to their respective rooms.

Today MABA was welcomed by department officials, lecturers, and student association activists from each department. Topics regarding student affairs, academics, and administration to student organizations became the material on the last day of the PKKMB FTUB.

Dr. Eng. Ir. Herry Santosa, S.T., M.T., as the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Entrepreneurship said that the material presented at PKKMB both at the faculty and departmental levels must refer to the university’s PKKMB vision as stated in the Rector’s Regulation no. 63 of 2022 concerning the implementation of the PKKMB.

“This activity should be a means of raising awareness and adjustment of students as members of the scientific community as well as the nation’s next generation of quality to become the glue of unity and togetherness as well as developing a critical and analytical culture,” he explained.

According to him, this awareness is important so that they can undergo a directed lecture process. After graduation, FTUB alumni can directly enter the community and will be ready to contribute to creating better changes in the future.

New students are introduced to the facilities provided at the Department level and of course the choice of concentration available in their respective departments. This is important so that new students will be able to choose courses according to their desired interests from the beginning of the lecture. Thus, freshmen can focus more on developing their knowledge and excel in it.

From the student affairs side, there is full support from student organizations. New students can easily access curricular and extracurricular facilities in developing their talents. Meanwhile, in the organization field, freshmen get acquainted with student associations which will later become the place in every student activity.

The density of material given at the PKKMB department today is expected to be a good start for new students in developing their interests and talents in a directed manner and is expected to bear achievements.
