Department of AmerA, Civil Engineering Student Association, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) once again triumphed in the Indonesian Bridge Competition (KJI) Steel Frame Bridge Category on 16-20 October 2023.

This year, Civil Engineering fielded the Abinaya & Crew Team, under the guidance of Ir. Indra Waluyohadi, ST., MT., M.Sc., succeeded in winning the General Champion title again after the last five years.

The team consisting of Dewa Kresno Putra, Rifki Adji Firmansah, Paulus Alexander, and Muhammad Fathul Abrar succeeded in becoming the overall champion by taking 1st Place in three categories: Steel Bridges, the Most Beautiful Steel Bridges, and Steel Bridges with the Best Construction Methods.

The Indonesian Bridge Competition (KJI) is a national-scale bridge design competition held annually by the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas). The 2023 KJI, the 18th KJI, was held at the Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) with the theme “Optimum and Environmentally Friendly Bridge Design According to Local Wisdom, Work by Global Young Talents.”

“Thank God, after going through the proposal selection process and finally passing to the final stage with seven other finalist teams from various universities in Indonesia, we succeeded in bringing the good name of our beloved alma mater,” said Dewa. (mic)
