Monday (24/6/2024) the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) officially opened the 2024 Engineering Cadre Training (PKT), an intensive camp program aimed at FT UB students who will be on the Introduction to Campus Life committee for New Students (PKK Maba) 2024. This opening event will take place at the Coban Rondo Campsite and will last for the next three days (24 to 26 June 2024).

This training was attended by around 81 students who were selected as candidates for the PKK Maba committee which was attended by students from the Class of 2023. They will take part in a series of activities designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to make the upcoming PKK Maba a success. In his remarks, the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni and Student Entrepreneurship, Dr.Eng. Ir. Herry Santosa, S.T., M.T., IPM., emphasized the important role of engineering cadres in creating a positive experience for new students. Of course, guidance is needed from previous cadres, namely the student committee from the Class of 2022.

“This activity will not just be a camp at a tourist spot but also training, to shape character and leadership. “We hope that the participants can take advantage of this opportunity to learn, collaborate and prepare themselves well to guide our younger siblings in the future,” said Herry.

The 2024 PKT participants are preparing to depart.

This activity also involved a number of FT UB lecturers and educational staff who had experience in organizing similar activities. Apart from training sessions, participants will also take part in various outdoor activities aimed at strengthening team unity and cooperation.

With intensive and structured training, it is hoped that the selected engineering cadres will be able to carry out their duties optimally and provide the best contribution in welcoming and guiding new 2024 FT UB students. The 2024 Engineering Cadre training is an important first step in the PKK New Year preparation series, and FT UB hope that this activity can produce committees that are competent and ready to face future challenges.[drn]
