Water Resources Engineering UB Expands Collaboration with Curtin University

Kolaborasi WRE UB & Curtin Univ

Kunjungan WRE UB to ECU The Department of Water Resources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering (FT), Universitas Brawijaya (UB), is broadening its international collaboration with the School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Curtin University, Australia.

The two institutions have initiated a joint curriculum development project to enhance water resource management competencies, particularly in addressing increasingly complex global challenges.

This collaborative activity, held from November 11–15, 2024, included discussions with partners from Edith Cowan University (ECU) and The University of Western Australia (UWA). These discussions provided a platform for sharing knowledge, experiences, and ideas to create innovative solutions in the field of water resources engineering.

UB’s team was led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Ussy Andawayanti, MS., IPM., ASEAN Eng., supported by Dr. Eng. Ir. Indradi Wijatmiko, ST., M.Prac. (Vice Dean for Academic Affairs) and the Dosen Berkarya team consisting of Dr. Ir. Runi Asmaranto, ST., MT., IPM., ASEAN Eng., M. Amar Sajali, ST., MT., M.Eng., Ph.D., and Ir. Rahmah Dara Lufira, ST., MT.

The team engaged in strategic exchanges covering curriculum development, research, community engagement, joint supervision, student exchange programs, and organizing international seminars.

Kunjungan WRE UB to UWA“This collaboration reflects our commitment to continually improving the quality of education and research in water resources engineering. By combining the expertise of both institutions, we believe this partnership will bring tangible benefits to students, academics, and society,” said Prof. Ussy Andawayanti.

She further explained that this initiative aims to open broader opportunities for students and researchers from both institutions, including research exchanges, strengthening international academic networks, and participation in seminars and inbound student programs.

With optimism, the Department of Water Resources Engineering at UB hopes that this cross-border collaboration will address global challenges while reinforcing UB’s position as a vital part of the international academic community in water resources engineering.
