FTUB Architecture Team Develops Masterplan for Daarul Ukhuwwah Islamic Boarding School in Malang

As part of their community service initiative, a team from the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB), led by Dr.techn. Ir. Yusfan Adeputera Yusran and Dr. Ir. Joko Triwinarto, carried out a masterplan development program for the Madrasah Tahfidz and Daarul Ukhuwwah Islamic Boarding School (PPDU) in Malang. The program, located in Pakis District, Malang Regency, aims to enhance the educational facilities and infrastructure within the boarding school environment.

In its implementation, the community service team designed schematic plans for various buildings, including classrooms, a clinic, dormitories, and supporting facilities. These designs were tailored to meet the specific needs of Daarul Ukhuwwah Islamic Boarding School. This program also involved undergraduate students from FTUB’s Architecture Program through the Community Service course, providing them with the opportunity to contribute directly to community development.

The leader of PPDU, Ust. KH. Dr. Muhammad Ajir Abdi Moenip, Lc., MA., emphasized that this development requires significant financial support.

“This building development highly depends on contributions from various parties, both individuals and donor institutions, to ensure smooth progress. This program has been very helpful in attracting donors,” he said.

This activity not only focuses on physical planning but also aims to raise community awareness about the importance of integrated environmental management. By optimizing the potential and collaboration among the boarding school, the architecture team, and the wider community, this program is expected to create more representative educational facilities and support the sustainability of teaching and learning activities at the boarding school.

The community service program conducted by the FTUB Architecture team represents a tangible step in supporting the development of religious-based education in Indonesia. Through close collaboration between academics, students, and the community, this program is expected to bring positive impacts to the boarding school and its surroundings, while also inspiring the development of other communities.
