Tuesday (11/2/2025), Kemah Kerja Mahasiswa (KKM) XLV of FT UB was officially closed last Friday, but the positive impact of its implementation continues to be felt in Kucur village. Kucur village, which is located at the foot of Mount Putri Tidur, is now increasingly known as an attractive tourist destination after the implementation of the KKM activity which had a positive impact on the development of the village.

Many tourists come to the orange plantation in Kucur village.

One of the positive results of KKM is the development of the tourism sector involving the fertile orange plantations in this area. The vast and well-maintained orange plantations are the main attraction for tourists who want to enjoy the beautiful natural scenery.

The natural beauty of Kucur Village, with the backdrop of Mount Putri Tidur, provides a refreshing and in-depth tourism experience, combining nature, agriculture, and local culture. Tourists can enjoy the green panorama of the orange plantation that borders directly on the mountain forest.

Not only does it provide benefits for tourists, with the development of the tourism sector in Kucur village, it is hoped that it will also have an impact on improving the economy for the surrounding community. Several residents have also been seen setting up food stalls in the area before entering the Plantation.

In addition, according to information from the Head of Kucur Village, Abdul Karim, S.Pd., several cottages are currently being built which will later be intended for tourists who will stay in the Plantation area.

“Currently 2 cottages are under construction. We plan to build 10 cottages, this is indeed our initial goal to open a tourism village. With the presence of KKM from FT UB, it will certainly help introduce the name of Kucur village,” he explained.

He also explained that Kucur village is currently known as an independent village. Many people from other villages visit Kucur village to learn how their people can be independent without waiting for assistance from the government. With the presence of this orange plantation, it helps business opportunities not only from plantations but also from the tourism sector.

It is hoped that tourists who come will also help raise awareness of the importance of preserving nature and local agriculture, especially orange plantations which are the main commodity of this village. Income from the tourism sector provides hope for the community to continue to maintain environmental sustainability and improve their quality of life.

With the KKM program that supports the development of development in Kucur Village, it is now an example of successful collaboration between the world of education, village communities, and the tourism sector in creating sustainable economic opportunities. In the future, it is hoped that more villages in Indonesia can follow in the footsteps of Kucur Village, making nature and agriculture the main resources for community welfare. [drn]
