Enthusiasm & Pride at the Closing Ceremony of KKM XLV in Kucur Village, Malang
Thursday (6/2/2025), the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) officially closed the series of activities of the 45th Student Work Camp (KKM) with a ceremony full of enthusiasm in Kucur Village, Dau District, Malang Regency. This event was attended by 1,185 students who had completed various community service programs that had been completed over the past few days.
The Dean of FT UB, Prof. Ir. Hadi Suyono, S.T., MT., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng. in his speech expressed his appreciation to all students who had contributed to this KKM activity starting from the departure from campus until today’s closing.
“This activity is not only part of learning outside the classroom, but also a real form of student contribution to society. I hope this experience can be a provision for students in their social and professional lives in the future,” he said.
Then he also added that this KKM is focused on helping to develop Kucur Village as a tourist village in Malang Regency.
“Kucur Village has extraordinary tourism potential, especially orange picking and glamping tourism. However, there are several infrastructures that need to be improved so that we implement KKM here to help the village community,” he continued.
During the implementation of KKM, students were involved in various programs such as paving a 1.6 kilometer road, making a master plan for a tourist village which is currently 35% complete, making drainage, revitalizing a prayer room, and installing six solar cell street lighting points.
“This KKM is a routine activity that is typical of FT UB, which is carried out with the aim that new students can get to know and understand the problems that exist in society earlier. This KKM is also a forum for students from various departments in FT UB to collaborate and build their soft skills,” continued Prof. Hadi.
We would also like to thank the alumni and sponsors who have helped the running of this year’s KKM activities, including Elnusa Fabrikasi Konstruksi, Jasa Tirta, PT Propan and Jawara Cat.
Meanwhile, when met at the KKM location, the Chairperson of the 45th KKM FT UB, namely Dr. Ir. Redi Bintarto said that the preparation for KKM had been carried out since long ago, starting from the location survey in September 2024 to coordinating with various parties.
“We are very grateful for the support from all parties, including the Malang Regency Government and the Kucur Village Government, Koramil and Polsek to the Health Center and schools are very supportive of the implementation of the 45th FT UB KKM activity,” he said.
The closing activity took place with enthusiasm and pride for students who had completed various projects for the progress of Kucur village. With the end of this year’s KKM, students are expected to be able to bring the spirit of devotion and cooperation in every step of their academic and professional journey in the future. [drn]
