KKM XLV Second Day, Students Begin Implementing Community Service Projects

The Student Work Camp (KKM) XLV activity entered its second day, Tuesday (4/2/2025) with various community service activities. The students began implementing projects that included installing paving, installing public street lighting (PJU), repairing drainage, and cleaning the yard.

In addition, students also contributed to the revitalization of tourist attractions, especially the bathing pool which is an attraction in Kucur Village apart from its mountain views. Not only infrastructure projects, they also provide learning to students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah and MTS Wahid Hasyim 2, helping the educational process of learning experiences for students in the area.

In addition, in the Opening Ceremony, the Vice Chancellor III of Universitas Brawijaya (UB) in his opening remarks expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm of the students in carrying out this activity. He added that KKM XLV not only has a positive impact on the community, but also provides valuable experience for students in applying the knowledge they have learned in college.

“This activity is even more memorable because it is supported by the beautiful views of the mountains that surround the location. Hopefully this experience can strengthen students’ social awareness and strengthen the relationship between the campus and the community, especially in the village,” he explained.

Furthermore, the Dean of FT UB, Prof. Ir. Hadi Suyono, S.T., MT., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., APEC Eng. Also continued to remind students to seriously participate in PKM activities and also maintain ethics in the village. Welcoming the opening from the leadership, the Head of Dau District, Tetuko Luhur Setyo Bathoro, S.STP., M.AP also thanked the contributions made by FT UB students through projects carried out in Kucur village.

“We are very grateful for the KKM program from FT UB, where this program has been running for 45 years, of course many villages have been assisted. Hopefully, this program will have a positive impact and continue in the following year considering the very large area of ​​Malang Regency and many villages in it,” said Tetuko.

The 45th KKM activity is expected to not only be a place to develop students’ soft skills, but also as a momentum to establish closer relations between the world of education and society.
