A student of the Architecture Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB), Kishi Aisha Zafira, has successfully achieved a proud achievement by winning 1st place in the 2025 Paint Expo Utama Interior Design Competition held by Avian Brands in February 2025.

The 2025 Paint Expo Utama Interior Design Competition is an annual event held to appreciate students’ creativity in creating functional, aesthetic, and environmentally friendly interior designs. In this competition, participants are challenged to present design concepts that are not only visually appealing but also have ergonomic and sustainable values.

In her statement, Kishi Aisha Zafira revealed that her inspiration came from her desire to create a space that is not only comfortable but also provides an experience for its occupants in interacting with the surrounding environment.

“The design concept of this store prioritizes interactive experience, functionality, and comfort with a modern approach. The space is designed to maximize color exploration, making it easier for customers to choose and match the paint and materials they need. Circulation is made to flow with a spiral pattern, ensuring that visitors can explore the products easily,” explained Aisha.

Aisya continued that the main area includes a brand display zone, consultation, mixing & tinting, and a discussion lounge. The interior design relies on a combination of blue, red, yellow. White, and wood elements, creating a dynamic yet comfortable atmosphere. The lighting elements use LED strips, spotlights, and natural lighting to emphasize the appearance of the product.

Kishi’s success in winning 1st place cannot be separated from the support and guidance of lecturers and colleagues in the Architecture Study Program, FT UB. During the preparation process, he received various inputs and directions from supervisors who helped him perfect his design concept. Head of the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering UB, Dr. Ir. Lisa Dwi Wulandari, ST., MT., IPM, ASEAN Eng., CIQaR., CIQnR., CIMMR. expressed his appreciation for this achievement.

“We are very proud of the achievements of Kishi Aisha Zafira. This is proof that FTUB students are able to compete at the national level and continue to develop their competence in the field of architecture and interior design,” he said.

As the main winner, Kishi Aisha Zafira received an award in the form of a trophy, certificate, and cash prize from Avian Brands. With this achievement, it is hoped that more FT UB students will be motivated to participate in various competitions and continue to develop their potential.
