Closing of Safari Ramadhan 1446 Hijriah: Togetherness in Worship and Social Activities

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) celebrated the closing moment of Safari Ramadhan with warmth and togetherness on Wednesday (19/3/2025). In a span of 16 full days, the campus has strengthened the bonds of brotherhood and improved the quality of worship with various religious and social activities, as well as holding a Qur’an recitation activity attended by the entire FT UB academic community.

The closing ceremony was held at the Al Hadiid Mosque, FT UB, attended by the committee of lecturers and education staff as well as students who had actively participated during the holy month of Ramadhan. In an atmosphere full of emotion and gratitude, the event began with the reading of the holy verses of the Qur’an and a sermon while waiting for the time to break the fast.

The Head of Takmir of the Al Hadiid Mosque, Prof. Ir. Ludfi ​​Djakfar, MSCE., Ph.D., IPM. expressed his gratitude to the entire academic community who had contributed to making this year’s Safari Ramadhan a meaningful moment. In addition, he also expressed his hope that the spirit of worship and togetherness that had been built during Ramadan could continue to be maintained and applied in everyday life.

“Ramadan is not just a moment, but also a spiritual learning that must continue to be implemented outside the holy month. All positive things, both worship and deeds, must be carried out every day,” he explained.

It should be noted that this year the Qur’an recitation activity was also held and 325 participants ranging from students, lecturers and education staff. It was recorded that the Industrial Engineering Department had the most recitations, in second place was the Water Resources Engineering Department and the third was the City and Regional Planning Department.

In addition to the Qur’an recitation, social activities that had been carried out during the Safari Ramadhan also received special attention. Where FT UB provided assistance to orphans from the Aisyiyah Malang orphanage and orphans fostered by the Lazis NU Lowokwaru foundation. A total of 25 orphans received gifts and donations from FT UB.

Safari Ramadhan 1446 H at FT UB not only focuses on the aspect of worship, but also becomes a means of friendship and strengthening character for the entire academic community. Through various Islamic studies, lectures, and social activities, it is hoped that students and educators will increasingly understand the values ​​of Islam which are rahmatan lil ‘alamin. The active participation of students and lecturers in this social activity shows the spirit of mutual cooperation that continues to be maintained in the campus environment. With the end of the Safari Ramadhan 1446 H series, FT UB hopes that the positive values ​​that have been obtained during the holy month can continue to be applied in academic and social life. The spirit of sharing, togetherness, and improving the quality of worship are expected to remain part of the culture in the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya.[drn]
