The energy-efficient car team of Brawijaya University, Apatte62 Brawijaya, took part in the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) Surabaya 2025 which took place at Grand City Surabaya, on May 28 – June 1, 2025. This participation is an important moment for the team to introduce its latest innovation, Marsela EV, an energy-efficient electric vehicle made by the nation’s children.

Marsela EV is a development of Apatte62 Brawijaya which carries the concept of energy efficiency and environmental friendliness. This vehicle is designed as a form of the team’s commitment to answering global challenges regarding the need for sustainable transportation technology.

Through participation in IIMS Surabaya, Apatte62 Brawijaya not only displays products, but also expands education to the general public regarding the importance of energy efficiency in the automotive sector. The team’s booth was crowded with visitors who were enthusiastic about learning more about the Marsela EV design process as well as the history and achievements of Apatte62 in various national and international competitions.

During the exhibition, the Apatte62 team also held interactive sessions with visitors, ranging from technical explanations of vehicles, short demos, to light discussions about the challenges of building energy-efficient vehicles. Many visitors, especially students, were interested in finding out more about how they could join or learn from this team.

Apatte62 Brawijaya itself is a research and innovation team of FTUB Mechanical Engineering students who have focused on developing energy-efficient vehicles for more than a decade. This team has participated in various competitions such as the Shell Eco-marathon and the Energy-Efficient Car Contest (KMHE), and has often won awards for the design and efficiency of its vehicles.

Apatte62’s presence at the IIMS Surabaya event represents the spirit of collaboration between higher education and the automotive industry towards a greener future. The team hopes that this participation will also be able to open up opportunities for collaboration with various parties, including the government, automotive companies, and potential investors.

Apatte62 Brawijaya’s participation in IIMS Surabaya 2025 is proof that innovation from campuses does not just stop in the laboratory, but can also appear and be appreciated on the national stage. The team hopes to continue to develop sustainable transportation technology that is not only efficient, but also accessible and widely applicable in Indonesian society.[drn]
