Student Creativity and Innovation in ARSIR 2025

The entrepreneurial spirit of students from the Department of Architectural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) echoed again through the holding of ARSIR 2025, a student entrepreneurship exhibition event as an implementation of the Entrepreneurship course. This activity took place lively in the Hallway of the FTUB Dean’s Building on Thursday (6/13/2025) and displayed various creative products by students.

Symbolically opened by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Entrepreneurship, Dr.Eng. Ar. Ir. Herry Santosa, S.T., M.T., IAI., IPM., and the Head of the Department of Architecture, Dr. Ir. Lisa Dwi Wulandari, ST., MT., IPM, ASEAN Eng., CIQaR., CIQnR., CIMMR., this activity was marked by cutting the ribbon as a form of support and appreciation for the innovative spirit of students.

In his remarks, Dr. Herry Santosa conveyed the importance of architecture students not only excelling in design and planning, but also having an entrepreneurial spirit.

“ARSIR is not just an exhibition, it is a training stage for students to express their creativity and see firsthand the market response to their products,” he said.

In addition, it is hoped that graduates from Architecture students will not only work in companies or in offices but can also create their own jobs.

It was recorded that more than 20 entrepreneurial stands filled the dean’s hall, ranging from snack products, fresh drinks, contemporary snacks, to non-culinary products such as facial sketch services, architectural stickers, and architectural thematic key chains. The atmosphere became even more lively with booth decorations that were made unique and attractive, reflecting the identity of each business group.

Students involved in this activity were divided into several groups. Each was asked to design a product, manage capital, develop a marketing strategy, and carry out direct transactions. This process provides real experience in the world of entrepreneurship while training communication and teamwork skills.

The Head of the Department of Architecture, Dr. Lisa Dwi Wulandari, added that this activity is a form of project-based learning that emphasizes the application aspect.

“We want students to not only be able to design buildings, but also to be able to think about business and innovation. This is an important provision in the future world of work,” he explained.

With the implementation of ARSIR 2025, FTUB shows its commitment to supporting the development of soft skills and the entrepreneurial spirit of students. It is hoped that activities like this can continue to be developed and become the embryo of the birth of young entrepreneurs from the world of engineering and design who are not only creative, but also competitive.
