Gratitude and Social Concern at the FTUB Qurban Festival 1446 Hijriah

In order to commemorate the Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijriah, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) held a Qurban Festival which was held solemnly and full of togetherness. This activity was carried out on the FTUB campus and involved the entire academic community, starting from lecturers, education staff, and students of the Al-Hadiid FTUB Mosque management.

A total of 3 cows and 11 goats were recorded as being slaughtered in a series of qurban activities this year. The 3 cows were recorded from the Dean of FTUB, Ir. Sigmawan Tri Pamungkas, MT., CIQnR. and Dr. Ir. Lisa Dwi Wulandari, ST., MT., CIQaR., CIQnR., CIMMR., CISHR., IPM., ASEAN Eng. while the goats were the result of donations from lecturers and staff in the FTUB environment. The slaughtering of sacrificial animals was carried out in accordance with Islamic law, involving a special committee and a team of professional slaughterers.

The Head of the Takmir of the Al-Hadiid Mosque, Prof. Ir. Ludfi ​​Djakfar, M.SCE., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng. said that this activity is a form of gratitude and social concern that is routinely carried out every year.

“This Qurban Festival is not only about slaughtering animals, but also a means of strengthening friendship and sharing happiness with others,” he said.

The qurban meat was then distributed to residents around the campus, especially in the village on Jalan MT Haryono, some were also distributed to Islamic boarding schools and orphanages, as well as parties in need. More than 600 packages of meat were successfully distributed. The distribution process was carried out with an orderly queue system and using good hygiene protocols.

Students who are members of the Al-Hadiid mosque youth also took part in this activity, helping with the cutting of meat, packaging meat, and distribution. Their involvement shows the spirit of mutual cooperation and social concern that continues to be instilled in the FTUB environment.

With the implementation of this Qurban Festival, FTUB hopes to continue to foster Islamic values, solidarity, and the spirit of sharing in campus life. Hopefully this activity will provide blessings for all parties involved and strengthen our social ties as a big family of the Faculty of Engineering.[drn]
