FTUB Holds Socialization of Indonesia-China Scholarship at Central South University (CSU)
The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) hosted the socialization of international scholarship programs. This time, the event, which took place at the Prof. Ir. Suryono Auditorium on the 2nd floor, presented the Indonesia-China Cooperation Scholarship program offered by Central South University (CSU), in collaboration with LPDP, GEM, and the Chinese government.
The event, which took place on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, was attended by students, lecturers, and alumni who were interested in continuing their studies to the master’s or doctoral level abroad. There are three fields of study offered in this program, namely Metallurgical Engineering, International Economics and Trade, and Traffic and Transportation Engineering.
The activity was officially opened by Dr. Eng. Ar. Ir. Herry Santosa, S.T., M.T., IAI., IPM., as the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Entrepreneurship of FT UB. In his speech, he expressed his appreciation for the opportunity given to students to be able to participate in this prestigious international scholarship program.
“We strongly encourage students to continue to explore their potential and open themselves to global opportunities. This CSU Scholarship is an important bridge to expand knowledge, build international networks, and of course increase the nation’s competitiveness in the global arena,” he said.
Present as keynote speakers were two alumni from Batch 1 of Metallurgical Engineering, namely Tegar Mukti Aji, S.T., M.Eng and Rizky Wanaldi, S.T., M.Eng. Both shared their study and life experiences while participating in the scholarship program at CSU, starting from the registration process, lectures, to cultural and language adaptation.
Tegar Mukti emphasized that this program not only provides quality technical education, but also expands international insight and global networks. Meanwhile, Rizky Wanaldi highlighted the importance of mental readiness and the spirit of independent learning for scholarship recipients. He also reminded the importance of maintaining academic performance to meet the high standards set by the university and scholarship organizers.
This activity also provides an interactive Q&A session and technical information on how to register, document requirements, and the scholarship selection process. With this activity, it is hoped that students from Universitas Brawijaya and other campuses in Indonesia will be more motivated to take advantage of opportunities to study abroad, especially in strategic fields that are relevant to national development.
This program is real evidence of LPDP and the government’s commitment to encouraging Indonesia’s young generation to compete globally. [drn]
