To fulfill this mandate, the Faculty of Engineering UB as an academic in the field of engineering collaborates with industry and the government held a Construction Sector Test for Young Expert Expertise on Tuesday, 7 May 2019.

Institutions involved in this activity include PT Waskita Karya (Persero). Tbk., Work Unit of Surabaya IV Region Construction Service Center, Work Unit of Construction Technology Application Center of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing East Java, and East Java Construction Services Development Institute (LPJKP).

In his report, LPJK East Java Province Vice Chair III, Dr. Isnandar, MT revealed that as many as 195 participants attended this certification. All of the participants came from UB and each of them participated in the test in the field of Construction’¬†Occupational Health and Safety (85 participants), Construction Management (70 participants), and Regional & Urban Planner (40 participants)

Head of Construction Region IV-East Java, Eddy Irwanto, ST., M.Tech., also added that this activity was a form of recognition of the competency of participants.

“This competency test aims to provide recognition of competencies in the knowledge and skills aspects after going through a series of technical guidance activities, Distance Learning methods through SIBIMA Konstruksi,” explained Eddy.

Eddy also added that this activity was the application of Circular of Construction Services Development Agency Number 2 of 2019. This circular letter regarding the Technical Guidelines for Construction Competence and Registration of Labor Certification for the Level of Young Experts was an effort to fulfill Construction Experts in East Java Province.

Also present on this occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UB, Dr. Ir. Pitojo Tri juwono, MT. He expressed his pride in the achievements of FTUB students and hoped that these best students could increase the number of young experts in construction services in East Java.

“In front of me is a candidate for young experts in the future of construction. Hopefully, later it can support the massive infrastructure development process carried out in all regions of Indonesia,” Dr. Pitojo said before opening the event.

This assessment activity was carried out by assessors from the LPJK East Java Province by interview method. After the opening, the participants were directed to three points for interviews according to their fields of expertise. The Construction’ Occupational Health and Safety is directed at the right wing of the Auditorium, Construction Management in the Civil Engineering meeting room, and Urban & Regional Planners on the 5th floor of the FTUB Building.
