WhatsApp Image 2019-09-03 at 17.41.44(2)Professional Engineer Study Program (PSPPI) of Professional Engineer Department, Faculty of Engineering Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) received a visit from the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (BAN-PT). This time the accreditation visitation was carried out by Prof. Dr. Widayat from Diponegoro University and Prof. Asep Kurnia Permadi, Ph.D. from the Bandung Institute of Technology.

Located in the 3rd floor Meeting Room of the FTUB Building, the assessors were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs UB, Prof. Dr. Aulanni’am, Deans of related faculties (Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, and Faculty of Animal Husbandry), Heads of Departments and Work Units in the FTUB environment, and Heads of Administration and staff.

“I see unified here. For the first time while being assessors, we feel really welcomed by a faculty, even felt like a university welcoming us, even though what we are assessing is the study program,” said Prof. Widayat in his speech.

WhatsApp Image 2019-09-03 at 17.41.45(3)This was also expressed by Prof. Dr. Pitojo Tri Juwono as the Dean of FTUB. He deliberately invited all relevant parties as support and of course as learning material for them.

“I am sure, in addition to providing support for those who are visited, this activity can be a learning material for the faculty leaders and departments in dealing with any accreditation to come,” he said.

This visitation has been awaited by the PSPPI. The study program which was only got official on October 23, 2017 (coincide with the 54th anniversary of the FTUB) has graduated around 40 students from two classes.

“This accreditation is very much needed as a form of operational legality of a study program,” said the Dean.

The Dean hopes that the assessors can provide criticism and input on the processes done of the study program, which has only been running for two years for future improvement.

“The constructive input, of course, will be our provision so that the processes we plan and carry out are in accordance with BANPT’s standard quality,” he said.

By inviting university leaders and related faculties, he also requested full support for this study program. That was answered directly by Prof. Aulani’am represented the Rector before opening the activity.

This visitation includes interviews with leaders, alumni, and PSPPI users. In addition, the two assessors also thoroughly reviewed the facilities and infrastructure used by PSPPI.

The visitation activity will take place over three days, from 2-4 September 2019 and will be centered in the 3rd-floor Meeting Room of the FTUB Building and the environment where PSPPI activities centered. (mic)
