Overcoming Rice Problems, I-OZYC Wins Gold Medal in International Competition

Collaboration of Electrical Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) succeeded in getting a Gold Medal in the 2022 ASEAN Innovative Science Environmental and Entrepreneur Fair organized by BUCA Imsef.

The team, which was guided by a lecturer from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Raden Arief Setyawan, S.T., M.T., and chaired by Dhaffin Ray Ferdian (TEUB’21), consisted of Agda Naufal A.H. (TEUB’21), Dendy Satria Abadi (TEUB’21), Dimas Alvin C. (Architecture’21), and Farrel Danendra B. (TEUB’21).

These five FTUB students brought an idea entitled I-OZYC (Internet of Things based on Oryza sativa Graded Cultivation).

I-OZYC is a solution to the problem of rice shortages caused by unstable natural conditions, which cause many crop failures. I-OZYC is also an answer to the limited agricultural land caused by modernization.

On behalf of all members, Dhaffin is grateful for the prayers and guidance from all parties who have helped design their innovation.

“Highest appreciation to the Faculty of Engineering, especially our Supervisors, for this achievement. Hopefully, this innovation can inspire and benefit society,” said Dhaffin. (humasft)
