Two cars from the Apatte Elang Perkasa UB team underwent a technical inspection in the Shell Eco-Marathon 2022 event at the Pertamina Mandalika circuit.

“For today’s update, our team is still undergoing a technical inspection to check whether our car is safe and in accordance with the regulations from the Shell Eco Marathon 2022,” said Wisnu, the HR of Apatte Team, Thursday (13/Oct/2022).

After this qualification stage, the next stage will be a practice race on the circuit. All cars that pass the inspection will enter the track and try the Mandalika circuit.

“After qualifying, the next stage is the practice race by trying the Mandalika circuit,” continued Wisnu.

For self-inspection, it includes vehicle dimensions, vehicle weight, safety (seat belt, crumple zone, emergency button), electricity (lights, horn, wiper, battery), and driver completeness in accordance with Shell’s provisions.

Wisnu is optimistic that the two cars from the Apatte Elang Perkasa team will be able to pass the inspection stage and can drive on the circuit. Currently all team members are focused on preparing everything for inspection.

“Today, all team members focus on working on cars and we ask for the prayers of all UB residents so that we can go through all the stages,” added Wisnu.

As previously reported, Universitas Brawijaya through the Apatte Elang Perkasa Team participated in the Shell Eco Marathon 2022 event at the Pertamina Mandalika circuit on October, 11-15, 2022. UB sent two cars, Marsela EV which uses electric batteries for the urban concept category and the Anagata FCV which uses hydrogen fuel. .

For the record, the Marsela EV on the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia test drive was previously able to record the best record of up to 149.49 km/Kwh.

The Shell Eco-Marathon 2022 is one of Shell’s forms of support to encourage cleaner energy use in the future. This competition challenges participants to design and build an energy-efficient vehicle that can cover the longest distance with the most efficient use of fuel. (kanal24)
