Supporting the Development of the Semiconductor Industry, FT UB Initiates Cooperation in Germany

Bavarian Semiconductor Congress 2024The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB), participated in the Bavarian Semiconductor Congress (BSC) 2024 and visit Semiconductor Universities/Research Centers in Germany from June 1-8, 2024.

FT UB was represented by Prof. Ir. Hadi Suyono, ST., MT., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., the Dean, and Adharul Muttaqin, S.T., M.T., Head of Information Systems and Public Relations Management (PSIK).

In addition to FT UB, other universities and institutions involved Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Indonesia (UI), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), and Universitas Diponegoro (Undip).

Dekan Fakultas Teknik dan delegasi berbagai PT memasuki Clean Room dengan pakaian khusus saat Kunjungan Industri Infineon Technologies AGFurthermore, Universitas Lampung (Unila), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Institut Teknologi Sumatera (Itera), Institut Teknologi Kalimantan (ITK), and Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas), as well as representatives from several ministries such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemenlu), the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Diktiristek), and LPDP, also participated.

The delegation was led by the Indonesian Ambassador to Germany along with his team consisting of the DCM, Consul General, education and culture attaché, economic function coordinator, and consular staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Berlin.

BSC 2024 itself was held from June 2 to 6 in Munich. In addition to the congress, the delegation also conducted an industrial visit to Infineon Technologies AG, headquartered at Campeon Campus, Infineon’s largest research and development center.

The delegation also had the opportunity to visit three campuses with advanced semiconductor facilities focusing on various aspects of semiconductor technology research and development: Universität Ulm, Stuttgart University, and Technische Universität Dresden.

This visit aimed not only to assess the latest research potential in the field of semiconductors and IC Design in Germany but also to evaluate the quality of top campuses with semiconductor research.

Additionally, representatives from the Faculty of Engineering UB explored opportunities for joint research cooperation expected to support the development of the semiconductor industry in Indonesia between universities in Germany and Indonesia, particularly for the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya.
