Apatte62 Brawijaya Wins Two Titles at Shell Eco-Marathon 2024

The Apatte Elang Energi team from Universitas Brawijaya achieved remarkable success at the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia-Pacific and the Middle East 2024 held at the Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok. They won two prestigious titles: 1st place in Prototype Hydrogen with their Anagata FCV car and 2nd place in Urban Electric with their Marserla EV car.

AnagataThe Shell Eco-Marathon is an annual competition organized by Shell Global, where students from around the world are challenged to design and develop energy-efficient vehicles. This year’s competition featured 80 teams from 12 countries across the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.

In this event, the Apatte Elang Energi team not only succeeded in defending their previous year’s championship titles but also showcased a significant improvement in performance. The Anagata FCV achieved the best mileage of 521 kilometers per cubic meter, surpassing the Bumi Siliwangi team from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, which reached 502 kilometers per cubic meter, and the BITEPC team from Beijing Institute of Technology with a distance of 298 kilometers per cubic meter.

MarselaFurthermore, their urban electric car, Marserla EV, was impressed by achieving a 156 km/kWh distance and securing 2nd place in the Urban Concept Battery-Electric category. The team’s General Manager, Jufri Nurraihan (Mechanical Engineering ’21), expressed his gratitude for this achievement.

“Alhamdulillah, this is the result of the team’s dedication and hard work, with the support of everyone involved in the research and development of energy-efficient vehicles,” he said.

He added that two supervising lecturers, Waru Djuriatno, S.T., M.T., and Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Denny Widhiyanuriyawan, S.T., M.T., as well as the Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, Dr. Ir. Purnami, S.T., M.T., played a significant role in this achievement.

The success of the Apatte Elang Energi team was also due to their hard work, thorough preparation, and full support from the university and various other parties, including Catur Elang Energi, PT Indo Traktor Utama, and Kalmar. With this achievement, the team hopes to inspire other students and the younger generation to continue innovating and exploring environmentally friendly technologies.

This accomplishment demonstrates that dedication, hard work, and good collaboration can lead to extraordinary innovations. The Apatte Elang Energi team has proven that they can compete on an international level and bring Indonesia’s name to the global stage.
