FTUB Improves Sacrifice Package Quality

Welcoming Eid al-Adha 1440 H, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT-UB) slaughtered 15 sacrificial animals consisting of 3 cows and 12 goats. This activity was carried out on the 10th of Dhulhijjah 1440H which coincided on Sunday, August 11, 2019, in the parking lot next to the Department of Urban & Regional Planning.

The process of slaughtering up to the distribution of sacrificial animals this year has been more coordinated and run smoothly. At 9.45 WIB all sacrificial animals have been slaughtered and around 300 packages are ready to be distributed.

The committee also provides supporting equipment to speed up the chopping and packaging process. “We provide a bone cutting machine, miter saw, to speed up the process of bone chopping. This year so as not to be confused, we also separate the chopping area for goat and cow,” said the Chair of the Committee, Prof. Ludfi Djakfar.

Vice-Chair of the Committee, Dr. Very Dermawan revealed that from 3 cows and 12 goats, around 625 packages were distributed from 12.00 to 14.00 WIB to both internal and external FT.

“Thank God, the implementation this year went better than the previous years, we also increased the number of scales for each package to 150% from last year,” said Dr. Very.

The Dean of FT-UB, Dr. Ir Pitojo Tri Juwono, MT expressed his appreciation to all the committee and all parties who have helped the event. He also said that the momentum of Eid al-Adha is part of learning in life.

Many things can be learned from the moment of Eid al-Adha, first is how to continually increase the faith and devotion in fulfilling the call of Allah SWT. Sacrifice also provides lessons for sincerity, willingness to sacrifice, foster togetherness, and solidarity.

This activity which involves lecturers, staff, and students has become a tradition and routine of FT-UB since 2014. From year to year, the committee is always committed to improving the quality of service and implementation of this sacrificial worship.

“This kind of activity facilitates us to get closer to Allah SWT and also humans. May Allah forgive all of our sins, enlarged our hearts and wealth so that we can always worship Him and hopefully can fulfill Hajj at the specified time,” this Water Resources Expert hoped. (mic)
