Peak of 56th Anniversary, FT Inaugurates AL-Hadiid Mosque

Hundreds of UB Faculty of Engineering (FTUB) Families gather in the yard of the FTUB main building to commemorate the peak of the 56th Anniversary, Sunday (27/Oct/2019).

Led by a gymnastic instructor, Sugeng, the FTUB members consisting of dean, vices dean, lecturers, employees, and their family seemed eager to follow gymnastic routine that morning. Gymnastics which became the appetizer before the healthy walk were also followed by the leaders of UB and the heads of faculties in UB.

After gymnastics, the group immediately departed by the Rector for a healthy walk. Quite different, after the walk, the Dean of FTUB, Prof. Dr. Ir Pitojo Tri Juwono MT accompanied the Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir Nuhfil Hanani MS along with the Vices Rector and Deans in the UB environment to the location of the inauguration of the Al-Hadiid Mosque.

The head of the mosque’s construction executive, Prof. Ir Ludfi ​​Djakfar, MSCE PhD in his speech expressed his highest appreciation to donors, especially the Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (IKA FTUB).

One year after the ground breaking ceremony on the 55th FTUB Anniversary. Now the Al-Hadiid Mosque stands on a 730m² land and can accommodate around 400 worshipers.

The peak of Dies Natalis was then centered on the main stage with the distribution of prizes for the winners of academic-themed Dies Natalis contests as well as the awarding for the Most Active Reporters.

Of the 157 articles submitted, were selected as the winner Article Writing Competition are Fakhri Shafly Erlangga (TI’19), Arga Bayu Rachman (TI’17), and Ir Eko Andi Suryo ST MT PhD (Civil Engineering Lecturer).

While the best Profile Video was won by Industrial Engineering (PIC: Rafi Firdaus), the second winner and favorite video was won by Civil Engineering (PIC: Gibran Satria Samudra) with a total of 5,274 views, and the third winner was achieved by Electrical Engineering (PIC: M. Mufti Fajar).

In this session the Most Active Reporters were also awarded. This activity is an appreciation for the media partners for their good cooperation to publish FT-UB innovations and achievements.

The winner of the most active reporter award was Rahadi SE MM from Memo-X, Second was Sylvianita Widyawati from Surya Daily, and the third was Sandra Desi Caesari from Jawapost Radar Malang.

The dean also gave appreciation to all parties who attended and made the series of activities a success. “May our next footsteps continue to be a field of worship for all of us,” said the Water Resources Expert.

In his remarks, the Rector of UB also expressed his felicitation and hoped that the Faculty of Engineering will continue to work together in order to contribute to UB’s accreditation. Not to forget, he encouraged the lecturers to immediately speed up to get their professors tittle.

“The Dean is already a professor, and will soon be inaugurated. Hopefully this will be a whip for other colleagues to process it as soon as possible,” he hoped. The series of Dies Natalis activities will still be continued with Gowes & Touring on 10 and 16 November 2019. (mic)
