Industrial Engineering Hold Workshop, Serve with Heart

Now we are entering an era that requires an institution open to be valued. Everyone can judge the service of an institution. With openness, the opportunity for institutions to change or become better is even greater.

This was conveyed by dr. Arief Alamsyah, MARS when presenting the Workshop of Excellent Service in the 6th Floor Auditorium of the Industrial Engineering Universitas Brawijaya (TI-UB) Building, Tuesday, November 19, 2019.

The workshop with the theme “Serve with Heart” invited lecturers, staff, and laboratory assistants in the TI-UB environment.

“Including universities as public institutions. Especially if UB has become a PTN-BH, then our assessment really comes from the community,” continued the UB Medical Faculty lecturer.

According to Arief, our performance will be assessed directly by the community. In the future our lives will depend on that judgment.

Arief analogized with the small number of specialist doctors in the past. So inevitably the public will still come to the doctor even if the service from the doctor is not good.

But along with the increasing number of specialist doctors, now the public can choose which doctors can provide good services.

“Hopefully this morning’s program can cause at least awareness, if we really have to serve well. Because times have changed, not like before,” he hoped.

Representing the leader of the department, Head of the Supply Chain and Information Technology KJF Ihwan Hamdala, ST. MT. in his remarks when opening the event said that UB as an educational institution was demanded to provide good and excellent service.

“Without good quality and prime, stakeholder trust and satisfaction we cannot achieve. While we know that it is an indicator of the performance of the organization,” he said.

After the theory session, the workshop was filled with discussion of learning in groups to map the dimensions of service quality in TI-UB. Each group will explain the problem and provide solutions that can be given. (and)
