Thousands of High School Students Visit FTUB in 2019

In 2019, 24 high schools and the Tutoring Institute visited the UB’s Faculty of Engineering (FTUB). The number of students who attended reached 3,376 students.

Universitas Brawijaya (UB) is still an attraction for prospective students from the Greater Jakarta area and beyond. “This year around  50% comes from Jabodetabek,” said FTUB public relations officer, Miko Irfanti.

Every year, the university must carry out a series of activities for the new students admission. So it is not surprising that prospective applicant institutions such as high schools or the Tutoring Institute prepare the best for their students. One of them is by conducting excursion studies to universities.

In addition to getting relationships, students will also get additional information about the tertiary institution in terms of admission paths, new student admission quota, lecture life to achievements that have been achieved by existing departments.

Welcomed in Prof. Ir Suryono’s 2nd Floor Auditorium, FT-UB Dean Building, not a few of the high schools / LBBs who have regularly visited FT-UB annually.

In 90 to 120 minutes, prospective students who were present were given material about the introduction of the campus, especially in the Faculty of Engineering in general. In addition to getting material about campus introductions at the Faculty of Engineering, not a few of the high school/LBB are fortunate to see laboratories in several majors.

Not only come from the Greater Jakarta area, some are from the East Java, East Java, and even Sumatra. As the closing of this year’s visit, MAN Insan Scholar Jambi visited FTUB today, 20 December 2019.

In his second year, through his representative Melia Fitriani explained that every year there are dozens of alumni accepted at UB. Even though they traveled a relatively long distance to UB, it did not reduce the enthusiasm of the students to actively ask questions and shout out the pride of jargon of the Faculty of Engineering.

“Hopefully this visit can provide useful information and motivate our students to continue their studies to a higher level, especially UB,” the Vice Principal for Student Affairs hoped in her remarks. (mic)
