KKM XLII D-3: Weather Is Not Supportive, Project Still Completed 100%

Entering the third day, 42nd Student Work Camp (KKM) in Dalisodo Village, Kec. Wagir, Kab. Malang, thousands of new students (freshmen) are directed towards the land where they will continue the project and community service on Wednesday (22/Jan/2020).

The committee is targeting all projects to be completed today. “Today we have to stop many times because of the rain, but thank God it could be finished on schedule,” said Dhimas Kaukabi Dwiputra as the XLII KKM Chair Person.

Today the freshmen continue the project which consists of cleaning drainage channels, reforestation, installing street lights, and revitalizing the park in Coban Glotak.

While the female students continued to teach at SDN 3 Dalisodo, provided counseling related to processing organic and inorganic waste, and made tourist signboards for Coban Glotak.

“Female students was conducting a socialization related to waste processing, social media, and online sales. Hopefully this activity can be utilized by the surrounding community and can become more developed,” said Dhimas.

On this third day IOM representatives and Vice Dean III Forum representatives also visited the site. The Vice Deans who came to the location today were from the Faculty of Law, Animal Husbandry, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Dentistry, and Vocational.

The committee of lecturers and education staff also voluntarily monitored activities at night.

“Alhamdulillah, the situation is smooth and under control. We monitor student activities until nighttime alternately, the committee from the faculties also turns to come to the location and supervise the activities. Today’s faculty leadership rank also visited the land to monitor progress,” said WD 3 Expert Staff, Redi Bintarto when met at the location.

He also revealed that the residents were very enthusiastic and cooperative, both during the socialization and around the project area. Aside from the weather, he said, in general all projects planned to have been completed 100%.

“The committee has been preparing for almost two months ago, so seeing collaboration with the community running smoothly like this we are quite satisfied, we hope that residents can continue to preserve what has been built in this activity, hopefully can provide a variety of sustainable benefits,” he concluded.
