FTUB Researcher Profile, SINTA Version

SINTA is an innovation in science and technology information systems developed to measure the performance of individuals, institutions, and networks of researchers or lecturers conducting studies.

The SINTA program was designed in 2016 and until now it is said to have managed 194,904 verified authors, 4,607 journals, and 34,677 books. In addition 93,346 articles, 69,796 conference papers, and 5,266 book chapters.

Previously the ranking system or sequence of researchers or lecturers in Indonesia was seen from the achievements according to Google Scholar. SINTA was presented to provide an updated ranking of researchers with a broader method.

With this ranking, the government hopes to provide researchers and lecturers with the motivation to excel and work even better internationally.

In the ranking of The 500 Best Researchers in Indonesia based on the SINTA Science and Technology Index, nine researchers from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) included in the Top 500 Indonesian Reseacher (SINTA vers.).

The nine researchers are (data: July 13, 2020):

  1. Prof. Dr. Ir. Rudy Soenoko, M.Eng.Sc. from Mechanical Engineering
  2. Prof. Ir. I.N.G.Wardana, M.Eng., Ph.D. from Mechanical Engineering
  3. Prof. Dr. Ir. Lily Montarcih Limantara, M.Sc. from Water Resources Engineering
  4. Prof. Ir. Sudjito, Ph.D., from Mechanical Engineering
  5. Prof. Ir. Hadi Suyono, ST., MT., Ph.D., from Electrical Engineering
  6. Yudy Surya Irawan, ST., M.Eng., From Mechanical Engineering5
  7. Dr. Ir. Rini Nur Hasanah, S.T., M.Sc., from Electrical Engineering
  8. Prof. Ir. Antariksa Sudikno, M. Eng., Ph.D., from Architecture
  9. Dr.Eng. Moch. Agus Choiron, S.T., M.T., from Mechanical Engineering

This achievement was greatly appreciated by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs FTUB, Ir Ishardita Pambudi Tama ST MT PhD. He said, in accordance with the Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Strategic Plan, one of the goals or priorities in the FTUB Academic was to improve quality internationally.

“Our nine researchers are in the Top 500 on eof which is because of international publications. This is one indication that we are on the right track,” he said.

In near future, he continued, is an increase in facilities. Research can be done well if there’s quality improvement in equipment, Human Resources that support the lab, and the standardization of the lab.

Publication and citations are one indicator for ranking, both national and international. To improve this international publication, FTUB has one program, the 3in1 Program.

“Hopefully, each department can make the best use of this program. Because if we have cooperation with those who in fact might have more complete equipment, I am sure we can increase not only the joint publication, but also we can raise the name of our institution, even though in equipment we are still in an effort to fulfill it,” he concluded.
