Entering the Metaverse World, FTUB Initiates Cooperation with FXMedia Singapore

The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) has again initiated an MoU with foreign company. This time with FX Media Internet Ltd. Singapore, a company whose core businesses include Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality/Mixed Reality, Immersive Interactive, Artificial Intelligence and IOT for corporate enterprises and government agencies.

Present at this online meeting were Prof. Ir. Hadi Suyono, ST., MT., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN.Eng. (Dean of FTUB), Dr. Eng. Ir. Indradi Wijatmiko, S.T., M.Eng.(Prac) (Vice Dean for Academic Affairs), Dr.Eng. Ir. Herry Santosa, S.T., M.T., IPM. (Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Entrepreneurship), Dr. Ir. Rini Nur Hasanah, ST., M.Sc. (Head of the International Office), and related lecturers. Meanwhile, those who represented FX Media Internet Ltd were Mark and Anna JF.

In the afternoon of March 22, 2022, several issues related to programs that can be collaborated with FXMedia Internet were discussed, mainly related to the Internship Program of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM).

“In the internship process, students will be assessed for four weeks to see their abilities, which is then used as the basis for assigning assignments,” said Mark.

FXMedia, he continued, also opens year-round internship opportunities for students who are interested in applying.

“Later, it will be scheduled, qualifications of each student will be carried out, and then students who pass will be guided by a mentor,” he explained.

FxMedia using a ratio where one mentor mentors three students, so the student acceptance ratio is 1:3.

Not only that, FXMedia also offers the Metantara (Metaverse+Urban+Historic Area) Project program. A joint project that both institution will try to do together regarding the construction of the Metaverse in the historic urban area in Malang , which aims to be able to build a comprehensive digitization of historical data information for buildings and historic areas as well as the opportunity to build a public engagement system .

The draft MoU has been sent online and will be followed up further for both parties to sign.
