PKKMB FTUB Introduces MaBa Closer to the Metaverse World

1..2..3 TEKNIK!! The Faculty of Engineering Universitas Brawijaya (FT-UB) yells by the new students (MABA) resonates on the front yard of the FTUB Blue Campus after the long pandemic.

MABA 2022 was officially welcomed by all officials, lecturers, education staff, and senior students at the opening of the Introduction to New Student Campus Life (PKKMB), Friday, August 19, 2022.

After the university’s 2022 PKKMB activities on August 16-18 2022, MABA FTUB will take part in the PKKMB at the Faculty and Department level on August 19-20, 2022.

Dr. Eng. Ir. Herry Santosa, S.T., M.T., IPM. as the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Student Entrepreneurship reported that in the 2022/2023 academic year, FTUB has 1444 students who re-register with details of 860 male students and 584 female students.

“On this occasion, 1,272 students were present at the PKKMB activity, with a composition of 748 boys and 524 girls,” said this Architecture lecturer.

This series of PKKMB FTUB contains materials related to academic guidelines, curriculum, ethics, academics, activities of Kampus Merdeka Merdeka Belajar (MBKM), student competitions, and student opportunities to get scholarships will be presented as well as material on student organizations.

On the same occasion, the Dean of FTUB, Prof. Ir. Hadi Suyono, ST., MT., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN.Eng., welcomes all new students present.

“You should be proud and grateful because to enter the Faculty of Engineering, you have eliminated 26 other prospective students,” said the Professor of Power System Engineering and Artificial Intelligence.

At FTUB, he continued, students will be educated to become engineers. Don’t waste time, prepare yourself to be filled and filled.

“Our success all depends on us, be strong emotionally, physically, and religiously. Engineering students will think wisely and adaptively, and be strong to face the uncertainties of the future era,” he concluded.

Also present on the occasion this morning, the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni and Student Entrepreneurship, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hakim, M.Si.

In his speech, WR 3 UB is very proud of the solidarity of students and alumni of the Faculty of Engineering.

“If Tenik’s graduates pass by, the others will step aside. If an alumnus is accepted by a company, they will definitely invite the others. Because they know Arek Teknik’s quality and believe in their abilities,” he said.

The activity continued with the introduction of the ranks of faculty officials, department heads, ranks of heads of academic support units, and ranks of heads of administration.

After the opening ceremony, new students received material directly from the three Vice Deans related to Academics, Finance, and Student Affairs.

After Friday Prayers, the activity was continued with an introduction as well as material on student organizations and motivations delivered by Ir. Eko Andi Suryo, S.T., M.T., Ph.D.

It’s quite different at this year’s PKKMB. FTUB introduced the future digital industry, especially related to the metaverse issue to the new students who attended the event.

Today, one of the partners supporting Digital-preneurship in FTUB, Grab, is also presented, which is one of the digital platforms that is currently developing. Today Grab is represented by Reza, as Business Development East Java.

“In this increasingly developing digital world, we want to introduce the world of metaverse more closely to students so that they are prepared to face the digital era that will continue to develop,” said the Chief Executive of PKKMB 2022, L. Tri Wijaya Nata Kusuma, ST., MT., Ph.D.

Department-level PKKMB activities will be continued tomorrow, August 20, 2022, in the eight majors. Each Department will be given more in-depth material about the history and the lecture system.
