The Faculty of Engineering Strengthens Consortium between UB and USU

The Faculty of Engineering, University of North Sumatra (FT USU) visited the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya on Wednesday, 3 August 2022, in the 3rd-floor Meeting Room of the FTUB Building.

Prof. Dr. Ir Renita Manurung, M.T., Vice Dean I of FT USU, came to lead a group consisting of all Vices Dean and Heads of Study Programs within FT USU.

The delegation was welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB), Prof. Ir Hadi Suyono ST MT PhD IPU ASEAN Eng.

The activity began with an introduction to FTUB by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, DrEng Ir Indradi Wijatmiko ST MEng (Prac) and continued with a discussion.

Both parties discussed more about the FastTrack program. Prof Renita and all the leaders of FT USU enthusiastically asked about the details of the programs in FTUB.

“We came here to exchange ideas because the position of FT USU is not that far from FT UB. I hope that after returning home, we can bring some new useful things,” said Prof Renita.

The University of North Sumatra (USU) and four State Universities (PTN) in Indonesia agreed to cooperate and launch the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka consortium.

The launching of the consortium was carried out via a zoom meeting application on Monday, September 14, 2022. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) from 5 PTNs in Indonesia marked this collaboration.

The consortium was joined by the Faculty of Engineering from 5 PTNs in Indonesia; Universitas Brawijaya, North Sumatra University, Hasanuddin University, Udayana University, and Mulawarman University.

This consortium is a form of commitment to support the concept of independent learning and an independent campus proclaimed by the Ministry of Education and Culture through a systematic and massive increase in national student exchanges. (HumasFT)
