The team was invited to visit several of the village’s superior potentials; goat farming, coffee plantations, the village’s raw water source (umbulan source), the natural tourism potential of Tanaka Waterfall, and a direct visit to the PTPN XII Kebun Bangelan Coffee Factory.

It is hoped that the results of the study of the potential of Bangelan Village will produce outcomes in the form of scientific journal publications discussing the potential and development opportunities of Bangelan Village.

The second agenda carried out by the EIIS Laboratory Lecturer Team and the Student Team was socialization and training on composting activities using the Takakura Method which was carried out at the Arjomulyo Hamlet Hall and attended by representatives of the PKK Group in Bangelan Village, and Jambuwer Village.

This activity was led by Dr. tech. Christia Meidiana, S.T, M.Eng. by delivering material about the technical stages of composting using the Takakura Method.

The Community Service Team from the EIIS PWK FT UB Lab also provided assistance with 5 composter units with a capacity of 8 liters for each hamlet representative in Bangelan Village along with representatives from Jambuwer Village.

This assistance is provided as a medium for community representatives to practice composting according to the training material provided. The results of the composting carried out by each village representative will be assessed for success in the closing activities in August 2023.

“Later there will be awards given to representatives of each team who successfully carry out composting. Therefore, the essence of this activity is expected to be able to develop sustainable waste management practices in rural areas,” said Imma Ph.D.
