In commemorating the 60th Anniversary, the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) held a lively and enthusiastic choir and solo singing competition. The Tuesday (17/10/2023) event showcased the extraordinary musical talents of lecturers, education staff, and FT UB students.

This choir and solo competition was attended by lecturers, educational staff, and students from various departments under the auspices of FT UB, who displayed their multiple talents and creativity in the field of music. A panel of jury experts in the field of music supervised the participants’ performances during the competition. The mandatory song sung for the choir category is the Dharma Wanita PBB march, while for the solo singer category, Indonesia Jaya is from Harvey Malaiholo.

Deputy Dean for General Affairs, Finance, and Human Resources started the event. Ismu Rini Dwi Ari, M.T., Ph.D. He said it is hoped that the participants will enthusiastically participate in the Choir and Solo Competition activities, and there will be a particular category for the favorite participants chosen by the audience.

One of the peak moments in the 60th Anniversary celebration was the announcement of the competition winners. The Department of Mechanical Engineering won the title after showing an extraordinary performance in the solo singer competition and the favorite participant chosen by the audience. The event’s excitement was enhanced by a stunning solo performance from a Mechanical Engineering education staff, who won first place in the solo category.

Meanwhile, for the choir category, first place was won by Architectural Engineering, where the participants, consisting of lecturers, education staff, and students, sang the obligatory songs and songs of their choice in harmony.

This activity provides an opportunity for the FT UB academic community to express themselves through music and strengthens relations between various departments under the FT UB umbrella. The feeling of brotherhood and shared enthusiasm was felt during the event.

The commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of FT UB is a celebratory event and an opportunity to celebrate achievements, talents, and enthusiasm in achieving excellence in various fields.
