Deputy Chancellor IIII for Student Affairs Dr. Setiawan Noerdajasakti, S.H., M.H. symbolically, the contingent took part in the KKCTBN (National Unmanned Fast Boat Contest) and KMHE (Energy Saving Car Contest), Thursday (19/10/2023) in the front yard of the Rectorate Building. Previously, a briefing was held with student affairs leaders, assistants, and contingents on the 8th floor.

Representative of the UB KKCTBN Support Team Rachel Firda said the team departed Saturday (21/10/2023) via land route to Jakarta. This contingent consists of 4 teams that qualified for the final round. They will take part in three categories, namely Creation and Performance of the Leisure Boat Fuel Engine Remote Control (LBFERC) Tourism Ship Prototype, Autonomous Tourism Surface Vessel (ATSV) Prototype Creation and Performance, and Tourism Ship Design (Innovation Design and Implementation)

“The team’s preparations have entered the maturation stage; for the design category, they have prepared a presentation and studied the innovations of the ships being contested,” he said.

According to him, this year’s target is to become champion in each category. Meanwhile, the new Apatte 62 team will depart on October 27, 2023, but the previous car left first for the Jakarta International E prix Circuit.

The KMHE contingent numbered 26 people. The competition branches that will be participated in are Prototype Diesel and Urban Ethanol, with seven participants each.

According to Febby, a support team representative, preparations for the competition have been carried out for the past six months, starting with research on body design, frame, and energy consumption research. They also carry out engine checks and routinely carry out test drives. Even when approaching a competition, test drives are done more often for the best performance.

Febby said that this time’s target was to win a champion title like the Shell Eco Marathon some time ago.

KKCTBN and KMHE are annual competitions organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).[drn/sitirahma]
