Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) with high enthusiasm and enthusiasm held various kinds of competition activities. One of them, FT UB held a cooking competition and local barista competition which was attended by lecturers and educational staff in the faculty environment. The aim of holding this event is not only to commemorate the anniversary of the founding of the faculty but also to create harmonious and harmonious relationships between elements in the academic community.

This local cooking and barista competition activity was held on Friday (10/13/2023) at the 1st floor of the Dean’s building. The opening was delivered by the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni and Student Entrepreneurship, Dr. Eng. Ir. Herry Santosa, S.T., M.T., IPM., he said that the competition which is regularly held by FT is aimed at providing entertainment for lecturers and educational staff, although as entertainment the competition contains elements of good cooperation, creativity and work according to the specified time where the elements- These elements are used in everyday work.

“The 60th Anniversary of FT UB is a special moment for all our academics. We want to celebrate it in a different way, through culinary competitions and the art of coffee-making baristas which will inspire the creativity and skills of the participants. Through this competition, we hope “can create closer ties between FT UB lecturers and staff. This is the right moment to celebrate our joint achievements so far.” explained Herry.

He also added that the cooking competition and barista competition were a platform for lecturers and staff to show their abilities in the culinary and barista arts fields. Participants will compete enthusiastically in various categories involving cooking skills and making delicious coffee drinks.

The participants are assessed by expert judges in their respective fields, and the winners will receive awards and attractive prizes. The winner of this cooking competition was Civil Engineering who won 1st place, while the local barista competition was won by Adharul Muttaqin, S.T., M.T. from Electrical Engineering

The 60th Anniversary of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya is not only a celebration, but also an event to build togetherness and foster a spirit of competition in the world of culinary and barista arts among FT UB lecturers and staff.
