Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) officially inaugurated the Chair of the Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (IKA FT) for the 2023-2027 period on Saturday, December 16, 2023.

The inauguration procession took place in the Prof. Ir. Suryono Auditorium FT UB Dean’s Building and was attended by the Chair of IKA UB, the leadership of the FT UB, as well as alumni administrators who were present online and offline.

Director General of Housing of the PUPR Ministry, Ir. Iwan Suprijanto, ST., MT., FIDSK., was elected as Chair of the Alumni Association (IKA FT) for the 2023-2027 period where the election was held at the National Conference last month (November). The man who is familiarly called Sam Iwan, is an Architecture Alumni of FT UB in 1990.

Starting the activity, the Dean of FT UB, Prof. Ir. Hadi Suyono, S.T., MT., Ph.D., IPU., ASEAN Eng., gave a speech, where he expressed his hope that the IKA Faculty of Engineering can continue to develop and make a positive contribution to the alma mater.

“Alumni are valuable assets for the faculty, and I am sure that IKA FT under the new leadership will be more active in supporting the development and progress of this faculty,” he said.

The inauguration procession was led by the Chair of IKA UB, Muhammad Zainal Fatah, who read out the promises of the IKA UB management to all elected IKA FT administrators. He, who is the Secretary General of the PUPR Ministry, hopes that the new leadership will be able to lead IKA FT towards achieving higher achievements, as well as strengthening networks and collaboration between alumni. In his acceptance speech, the newly appointed Chairman of IKA FT, Sam Iwan, expressed his gratitude and commitment to carry out this mandate as well as possible.

“Together with the new IKA management, I will work hard to realize the vision and mission of IKA FT, as well as increase alumni involvement in various activities that are beneficial to the faculty and society,” he explained.

The inauguration event closed with a warm welcome and exchange of greetings between alumni. It is hoped that the presence of the alumni can be an inspiration and motivation for students who are currently studying at the Faculty of Engineering, Brawijaya University.

The new Chair of the IKA Faculty of Engineering will begin his duties to lead and drive IKA activities in supporting the development of the Faculty of Engineering and building closer relationships between alumni.[drn]
