FT UB Welcomes the Visit of SMAIT Ummul Quro Bogor and SMAN 2 Cikarang Barat

For two consecutive days, Wednesday (12/13/2023) and Thursday (12/14/2023) the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) received study tour visits from high schools from West Java, namely SMAIT Ummul Quro Bogor and SMAN 2 Cikarang Barat .

This visit is an effort by the school to broaden its students’ horizons regarding their introduction to life on campus. Representatives from FT UB on the first day of the visit were held in the Civil Engineering Auditorium and were welcomed by the head of UJM Civil, Dr.Eng. Desy Setyowulan, ST., M.Sc. Meanwhile, on the second day the visit was held at the Prof. Auditorium. Ir. Suryono 2nd floor of the Dean’s Building and represented by expert staff of the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni and Student Entrepreneurship, Fauzul Rizal Sutikno, ST., MT., Ph.D as well as several educational staff. To open the activity he delivered several remarks and advice to the students present

“We are very happy to be able to share knowledge and experience with high school students, hopefully this visit can provide inspiration and motivation for fellow students to continue to college, especially to the UB Faculty of Engineering,” said Rizal.

Rizal also gave input that being a student requires you to be more independent and active in lectures, which is different from being a school student where students are more directed and supervised by the teacher. Students are more focused on career choices and preparing themselves to enter the workforce or continue higher education.

The students and accompanying teachers were greeted with great friendliness by representatives of FT UB who acted as hosts during the visit. The series of activities over the two days included presentation sessions and explanations regarding the profile of FT UB delivered by the Public Relations of FT UB, interactive discussions between high school students and representatives of FT UB, as well as tours around Brawijaya University.

This activity not only provides academic experience for students, but also the opportunity to build networks between schools and universities in Indonesia. It is hoped that this visit will be the beginning of a closer relationship between FT UB and schools in Indonesia, as well as motivating students to pursue their dreams of continuing their studies at the university they dream of.

We hope that this study tour will be a valuable experience and provide encouragement for students in determining their future career choices.[drn]
