Adhan Competition Enlivens Safari Ramadhan1445 H, Architecture Students Win Champion

Tuesday (19/3/2024) the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) held a resounding call to prayer competition at the Al Hadiid Mosque, in order to enliven this year’s Safari Ramadhan. This competition, which was attended by students from various departments at FT UB, succeeded in attracting high enthusiasm from the participants and spectators.

In an effort to increase students’ love and skill in singing the call to prayer, the FT UB Safari Ramadhan committee held an call to prayer competition which aims to foster religious enthusiasm and promote the beauty of the call to prayer as a part of Islamic culture. This competition is also part of a series of activities and one of the competition areas in the Safari Ramadhan 1445 Hijriah which is held every year by FT UB.

Dozens of students gathered at the Al Hadiid Mosque to watch and support their colleagues who competed in this call to prayer competition. Competitors appeared with full confidence and presented their melodious voices in singing the call to prayer according to the correct procedure.

In this competition, participants are judged based on voice quality and solemnity in singing the call to prayer. The judges consisting of teachers and religious leaders provide careful assessments of each participant’s performance. The first judge is Ustd. Ibnu Mujahid, S.Pd.I from Raden Patah UB Mosque and Ustd. M. Faruq from Al Hadiid Mosque FT UB.

“We are very proud to see the enthusiasm and dedication of students in taking part in this call to prayer competition. Hopefully, through activities like this, we will all deepen our understanding of religious values and the beauty of Islam,” said Ir. Redi Bintarto, ST., M.Eng.Pract. as competition coordinator when opening the event.

After going through a performance session full of solemnity and enthusiasm, the champion of the call to prayer competition was finally determined. The winners included Lutfan Rifqi Fadillah (1) from the Department of Architecture who won first place, then Royan Zain (2) from the Department of Urban & Regional Planning as runner up, and Muhammad Randi Hakim (3) from the Department of Industrial Engineering as third place.

This call to prayer competition is not only a competition, but also a moment that strengthens togetherness and brotherhood between students in carrying out worship in the holy month of Ramadan. The spirit of togetherness and love of religion radiated from every series of events which were held smoothly and solemnly.

With the success of this call to prayer competition, FT UB hopes to continue holding activities that strengthen the sense of religion and togetherness among students, as well as making a positive contribution to academic and spiritual development in the campus environment.[drn]
