The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) held a guest lecture initiated by FT UB alumni with the Alumni Mengajar program. Entering the third meeting on Saturday (16/3/2024), this guest lecture activity was held online and attended by around 110 participants consisting of students, lecturers, experts in the engineering field from all over Indonesia who were enthusiastic about expanding their knowledge in the latest developments in industry. construction.

Of course, the Head of FT UB Alumni, Ir. Iwan Suprijanto ST,. MT., FIDSK. who currently serves as Director General of Housing at the PUPR Ministry was also present to open this activity. The initial remarks were delivered by him where he was very proud because at every guest lecture meeting the participants were always enthusiastic in following the material presented with various responses and questions submitted to the presenters. Apart from that, it is hoped that with the material presented at this time the participants will be able to know more about the use of Moboxes and Flatpaxes in the construction industry.

“Mobox and flatpack volumetric modular technology is a revolutionary innovation that is currently in the spotlight in the global construction industry. The hope is that this guest lecture can provide an in-depth understanding of the concepts, benefits and practical applications of this technology in sustainable and efficient development,” explained Iwan.

In this guest lecture session, a number of leading experts in this field were presented, including representatives from companies that have applied this technology successfully in their projects. They provide insight into how mobox and flatpack volumetric modular technology can speed up the construction process, reduce material waste, and provide flexibility and efficiency in design and use of space.

The material regarding mobox was explained by Ir. Vegit Risana Hughes, ST., S.Kom., IPM. from PT Adhi Karya while the flatpack material was explained by Ir. Bobby Parluhutan, MT. from PT Wijaya Karya Gedung Gedung, Tbk/WEGE. This guest lecture also becomes a platform for participants from both academics and non-academics to interact directly with experts and expand their professional network. Several participants expressed their enthusiasm to apply the concepts learned in this guest lecture in their future projects.

It is hoped that this guest lecture can provide additional inspiration and motivation for participants, especially students, to continue to innovate and contribute to advancing the Indonesian construction industry in a more sustainable and efficient direction. At the end of the event, participants were given the opportunity to ask questions directly to the speakers to gain further insight into mobox and flatpack volumetric modular technology and its implications in the local Indonesian context.
