The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) held an interesting guest lecture event today, Saturday (23/3/2024), with the theme “Strategies for Building a Property Business”. This event is part of the FT UB Alumni Mengajar program which aims to provide students with practical insight into the dynamic property industry.

Entering the fourth meeting, this guest lecture was attended by the Head of FT UB Alumni, Ir. Iwan Suprijanto ST,. MT., FIDSK. who currently serves as Director General of Housing at the Ministry of PUPR and also opens activities. Apart from that, the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni and Student Entrepreneurship, FT UB, Dr.Eng. Ir. Herry Santosa, S.T., M.T., IPM. As well as 170 participants consisting of alumni, students and experts in the engineering field from all over Indonesia.

“With this theme, namely the relationship in the property sector, it is interesting material because the property business is one of the healthy businesses in Indonesia. “Apart from that, when the Covid pandemic hit, even though it experienced a slowdown in various economic fields, the property industry was still growing, even though it was on a small scale,” explained Iwan.

Inviting 2 speakers who are experts in the world of property, namely Ar. Hari Santoso, IAI as Chair of IKAKA FT UB and also the Trustee of HDII East Java who explained material regarding “Building a Smart Home Business” and secondly Ar. N  oer Lailly K., IAI as owner of Medina Residence Group who delivered material on “Sharia Property Business”. The presenters explained in their presentations, including sharing effective strategies in building a property business, including identifying market opportunities, project development, and property marketing.

The participants were very enthusiastic about this event, because they were able to gain not only theoretical but also practical insight into the property industry from a different perspective. This guest lecture also becomes a platform for participants to interact directly with others and build a valuable professional network. They were given the opportunity to ask questions about experiences and challenges in running a property business and get direct advice from experienced practitioners.

It is hoped that this guest lecture event on strategies for building a property business will provide great benefits for FT UB students in preparing themselves to enter the world of work and contribute to the property industry in the future.[drn]
