Becoming Host, FT Students Win Winners at KBAI 2024

The Indonesian Water Building Competition is a forum for university students in Indonesia to create innovative ideas in dealing with Water Resources (SDA) infrastructure problems in Indonesia. This year the Department of Water Resources Engineering is holding the 2024 Indonesian Water Building Competition with the theme “Utilization of Water Technology in Overcoming Water Pollution for Clean Water Sustainability”. The competition will start on 22 November 2023 for registration and the final round and announcement of winners will be on 2-4 February 2024.

2 teams of students from the Department of Water Resources Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB) achieved brilliant success as hosts in the 2024 Indonesian Water Building Competition (KBAI). With extraordinary achievements, these students succeeded in winning a number of champions in this prestigious competition. With various creative and innovative ideas, the FT UB student team succeeded in conquering fierce competition from other participants. They succeeded in making achievements as champions and proving their superiority and abilities in the field of water building design.

One of the brilliant achievements of FT UB students was winning first and third place this year. Their brilliant ideas regarding environmentally friendly and innovative building designs succeeded in attracting the judges. The first winner was the Victoriam-64 team consisting of Pandu Wicaksono (1); Fiadita Maharani (2); Ida I Dewa Agung Ayu Prabawanti (3). Victoriam-64 carries the work of SUREWASTE (Sustainable Revolutionizing WasteWater Treatment based on the Internet of Things) with the guidance of Dr. Ir. Very Dermawan, ST., MT., IPM.

Meanwhile, third place was won by the Hilva Tankler-64 team consisting of Muhammad Hilmi Hakim Arif (1) and Shevananda Arifianto (2). Hilva Tankler-64 carries the work of WESTDRINK (Bioswale Smart Eco-Drainage With Detention Tank And Sprinkler) as a flood controller with a smart city concept in the capital city of the archipelago based on IoT with the guidance of Ir. Sri Wahyuni, ST., MT., Ph.D., IPM., ASEAN.Eng and Ir. Dian Sisinggih, ST., MT., Ph.D.

This victory is not only a source of pride for FT UB, but also represents the excellence of higher education in Indonesia in the fields of engineering and irrigation. With support from dedicated faculty and supervisors, FT UB students succeeded in showing their extraordinary potential and talents.

This success further motivates FT UB students to continue to develop themselves and contribute to nation building, especially in the engineering field. It is hoped that this brilliant achievement can be an inspiration for Indonesia’s young generation to continue to excel at national and international levels.[drn]
