Two Community Service Teams from the WRE Department Departed for Lombok

PKM WRE to LombokThe Department of Water Resources Engineering (WRE), Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT UB), has officially dispatched the 2024 Community Service Program (PKM-DIPA) contingent on June 28, 2024.

This program will run from Tuesday, July 2, 2024, to Saturday, July 20, 2024, in Samaguna Village, Tanjung Subdistrict, North Lombok Regency, and Bentek Village, Gangga Subdistrict, North Lombok Regency.

The send-off ceremony was attended by participating students, supervising lecturers, and several department officials. The contingent consists of 30 students committed to positively impacting the local communities.

The two teams are guided by Dr. Ir. Sumiadi ST. MT., Ir. Rahmah Dara ST. MT., Dr. Ir. Linda Prasetyorini, ST., MT., and Amar Sajali ST. MT., Ph.D.

This PKM activity aims to fulfill the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, the Community Service. The goal is to provide tangible and sustainable benefits to the village residents.

Programs designed include improving irrigation infrastructure, educating on water resource management, and social activities to enhance community welfare.

During the send-off, the Head of the Department of Water Resources Engineering, Dr. Ir. Runi Asmaranto, ST., MT., IPM., ASEAN Eng., emphasized the importance of conduct while carrying out the program.

“This activity is not just about transferring knowledge but also about building mutually beneficial relationships between the university and the community. Maintain good conduct and uphold the alma mater’s reputation. We hope this program will have a real positive impact on the village residents,” he said.

The participating students also expressed their enthusiasm for engaging directly with and contributing to the community. They see this as a valuable opportunity to learn and share knowledge with the residents of Samaguna and Bentek Villages.
